SOLUBLE PROBIOTIC WATER CLEANER FOR AQUARIUMS & GARDEN PONDS

DESCRIPTION:

ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 1002 is a soluble, super-concentrated, dry blend of eleven natural, non-pathogenic, spore-forming, gram-positive Bacillus specifically selected for use in aquariums and garden ponds, to rapidly degrade a wide assortment of proteins, starches, fats, carbohydrates, fibers and excreta that contribute to murky water, reduced oxygen and buildup of algae and sediments. ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 1002 contains specialized aerobic and facultative anaerobic strains which oxidize deadly hydrogen sulfide, reduce buildup of nitrates, clean mold stains off aquarium glass walls and degrade organic and fatty acids, common contributors to unpleasant odor in aquariums. If ammonia nitrogen is also high, ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 1100 or 1100-50x should be used in conjunction with ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 1002.

QUALITY CONTROL PROCEDURES:

QC-1: Total and Spore Count
QC-3: Salmonella-Shigella
QC-4: E-coli
QC-8: Staphylococcus

APPLICATION DIRECTIONS:

General: Either apply dry powder directly to the tank or pond or apply powder directly or "ready-to-use" liquid product as instructed below. Contaminated system requires a higher dose than one that is relatively clean Mechanical aeration is recommended, where natural aeration is deficient. Avoid use of algaecides, herbicides, and antibiotics when using any ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® product. The thirteen strains in ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 1002 were individually grown in media optimized to retain their individual adaptations and specialized traits, before being carefully assembled in this formulation. Attempting to grow the entire formula, for increased total count, may negatively alter the original balance. If sterile fermentation conditions are not maintained during germination, growth and subsequent blending, pathogens may accidentally be introduced to the finished product. Although ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 1002 does not contain any insoluble substrates, preservatives or other inhibitory ingredients that specifically prevent grow-out, Alken-Murray does not guarantee the quality, performance or purity of "grown-out" end product and such product must be sold under private label, without any reference to Alken-Murray

DOSAGE OF CONCENTRATE USED WITHOUT DILUTION:

For aquariums and garden ponds from 100 to 1,000 gallons (378 - 3,780 liters): For each 100 gallons (378 liters), the initial dose is 0.5 grams, followed by 0.2 grams once a week for 3 doses, then 0.2 grams twice a month.

For aquariums and garden ponds from 1,000 to 100,000 gallons (3,780 - 378,000 liters):
For each 1,000 gallons (3700 liters), the initial dose is 2 grams, followed by 1 gram, once a week for 3 doses, then maintain with 1 gram twice a month. The dose for this size range is intended to be proportionately smaller than the dosage for the small tanks, since the nutrient concentration is usually lower in the larger tanks and garden ponds. Avoid use of algaecides, herbicides, and antibiotics when using any ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® product.

Shock Treatment for Tanks or Garden Ponds Seriously Polluted:
Dose with 5 times the recommended initial dosage for a primary shock to help gain rapid control, then follow with normal dosages.

For Ponds larger than 100,000 gallons (378 cubic meters): ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 1005, 1006, 1007
and 1008 are specifically balanced for the problems encountered in larger ponds and lakes, providing more economical large-scale treatments. These formulas all contain both gram-positive and gram-negative strains to treat runoff from farms and storm-water, large populations of fish, shrimp and prawns, and other pollutants frequently found in larger water bodies. The gram-negative strains form a slime that helps to anchor the microbial consortia so that it is not as easily washed away. Only CF 1002 is balanced for glass-walled aquariums of any size. Using the other CF 1000 line dry formulas in a glass-walled tank or pond will produce an ugly, thick, greenish-brown slime all over the glass.

For Zoo Aquariums with Glass Walls, above 100,000 gallons: Initial seeding dose is 100 grams per 100,000 gallons, followed by 50 grams a week for 3 weeks. Maintain with 25 grams a week, For seriously polluted large aquariums, you can apply a single "shock dose" of up to 500 grams per 100,000 gallons. Then continue with normal schedule to maintain a healthy tank.

DRY FORMULATION GUIDELINES:

Use ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 1002 manufacturing concentrate as 10% of your finished dry product formulation, yielding a finished product with a total count of 2 billion CFU/gram. Acceptable fillers include: feed grade wheat bran, oat bran, corn starch, glucose and sodium bicarbonate. if ready-to-use product is meant to be edible. Dolomitic limestone and ground lava rock are also acceptable filler for non-edible applications. Dosage of a 1x diluted product is ten times the dosages listed above for application of full-strength concentrate, so 5 grams will treat 100 gallons (378 Liters), etc. If 4 billion CFU/g count is desired, use 20% CF 1002 in finished formula and dose at 2.5 grams per 100 gallon aquarium tank and adjust other dosages accordingly.

LIQUID FORMULATION GUIDELINES
AQUATIC APPLICATIONS:

Dilute 25 GRAMS of ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 1002 manufacturing concentrate with each 1 liter of distilled water for a total count of 500 million CFU/ml. Dose at 20 ml for each 100 gallons (378 - 400 liters) initial dose, and then follow dose reduction given above. Add stabilizer to distilled water, before using this water to dissolve powder, first making a smooth paste and then continuing to add water until thoroughly mixed in.

For larger volume applications, dilute 26.5 g of CF 1002 per liter of distilled water and preservative, making a finished product with a count of 530 million CFU/ml.. Dose this mixture at 100 ml per 5,000 liters of tank volume initial dose, standard dosage reduction thereafter.

Addition of 3 % Alken 896 will enhance germination and performance of product. Carefully mix powder with a small amount of water, making a smooth paste before slowly adding balance of water, stirring continuously to maintain an even suspension. Be sure to add prescribed Alken-Murray stabilizer, according to directions on the bottle. Appropriate quantity of Alken-Murray's proprietary ALKEN BACILLUS STABILIZER 26 will be provided FREE of charge if ordered to accompany an order of ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 1002 manufacturing concentrate.

LIQUID FORMULATION GUIDELINES
ALTERNATIVE APPLICATIONS:

For preparation of liquid septic aid, grease trap or drain line treatment, deodorizing and/or cleaning product, with a total count of 54 million CFU/ml (204 billion CFU/gallon) comparable to the concentration of competing products on the market, dilute 2.7 grams of ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 1002 manufacturing concentrate with each 1 liter combination of distilled water and selection of approved surfactants, dyes, fragrance and/or thickener. Addition of 5% Alken 896 will enhance germination and performance of product. Carefully mix powder with a small amount of water, making a smooth paste before slowly adding the balance of ingredients stirring continuously to maintain an even suspension. Be sure to add prescribed Alken-Murray stabilizer, according to instructions on the bottle or ask Ken or Valerie for advice to stabilize your specific formula. Appropriate quantity of Alken-Murray's proprietary stabilizer #23 will be provided FREE of charge if ordered to accompany an order of ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 1002 manufacturing concentrate. To produce a more concentrated finished product, with a total count of 500 million CFU/ml, follow aquatic formulation instructions except the quantity of distilled water used should be reduced by quantity of additional approved ingredients selected.

Optionally, prior to dissolving the ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 1002, addition of ALKEN® 896 at 50 ml per liter of stabilizer treated solution of dyes, fragrance, surfactants, and/or thickener, will enhance germination and performance of product.

FISH FEED PROBIOTIC ADDITIVE

For preparation of fish feed additives, we suggest adding 1 gram CF 1002 to every 19 to 49 grams of powdered fish feed, vitamins, minerals or other ingredients of benefit to cultured variety. If CF 1002 is added to moist feed, be sure to freeze quickly to preserve feed quality and keep microbes from eating too much of the feed.

EQUIPMENT FOR FORMULATION PREPARATION:

A Patterson-Kelley "V" blender or double ribbon blender is recommended for powdered product preparation. Patterson-Kelley is used for highest quality pharmaceutical manufacturing. A commercial Waring Blender can be used to provide thorough blending of initial paste preparation with additional distilled water and other ingredients for small batches up to 1 gallon. A Kreonite PM-25 blender is recommended for blending and dispensing 25 gallon batches. Larger batches will require larger commercial mixing tanks, comparable to those used to prepare food or cosmetic products. Be sure to sterilize equipment with Clorox® bleach and rinse thoroughly between preparation of batches. Stabilized liquid Bacillus product will have a 2 year shelf-life.
