Material Safety Data Sheet

Canadian Vibrio & Yersinia Study

AQUACULTURE GREASE DEGRADER & PROBIOTIC

DESCRIPTION:

ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 1003 is a concentrated dry , synergistic blend of twelve gram-positive, spore-forming Bacillus strains and six gram-negative, vegetative strains of bacteria, specifically formulated to offer accelerated breakdown and removal of the layer of oily material (food fats, grease and oil) floating on aquaculture tanks and ponds where high-fat diets are utilized to grow certain species of fish, protozoa and Artemia. Eliminating the oil layer enhances oxygen transfer and reduces stress on the fish. CF 1003 also contains six strains with capability between them to degrade 10 fatty acids.

APPLICATION DIRECTIONS:

 See

 Aquaculture/Lake/Pond dosage charts

for general application rates (use chart for CF 1003 - 1008. Your Alken-Murray service representative will prescribe both the initial application and the weekly maintenance doses, taking into consideration such factors as the size of the particular water body, total weekly inflow and outflow, amount of shade vs. sun, fish and fowl loadings, and levels of pesticides or other contaminants. Be aware that a heavy rainfall may bring significant contamination with its runoff, and a one-time dosage equal to the initial application may be needed to restore control. Mechanical aeration may be needed where natural aeration is deficient. For optimum bacterial performance, hydrate ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 1003 before application in the evening. Thoroughly mix each pound of dry product with two gallons of warm (approx.70 F) water from the water body to be treated. Allow the mixture to hydrate for one hour, stirring vigorously every half hour. After final settling, pour entire mixture into pond, including residual bran and dolomitic limestone. Avoid use of algaecides, herbicides, and antibiotics when using ALKEN CLEAR-FLO®.

PACKAGING AND HANDLING:

ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 1003 is packaged in 25 and 50 pound containers. Store in a cool, dry place. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, or open wounds and wash hands with warm, soapy water after handling.
