MUNICIPAL WASTE FOAM DEGRADER

DESCRIPTION:

ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 7015 is a concentrated dry blend of specially adapted bacteria (9 Bacillus, 6 vegetative gram-negative strains) which degrade oils, greases and biosurfactants created by Nocardia and Cyanobacteria (formerly called"Blue-green algae"), thereby providing superior control of foaming in municipal wastewater. A touch of Yucca schidigera helps to break up filamentous mats. Improved with Bacillus megaterium, strain AMC 300, which digests cyanide, Trehalose-based biosurfactants AND food FOG.

For industrial foaming issues, use Alken Clear-Flo 7004 alone or ask for a 50-50 custom blend of CF 7004 and Alken Clear-Flo 7008, if filamentous species are thriving on petroleum oils instead of FOG oils found in municipal wastewater.

CHARACTERISTICS:

 Bacteria Count  5 billion CFU/gram
 Appearance:  Free flowing brown powder
 Odor:  Yeast-like

ADVANTAGES:

  • Reduces foaming caused by Nocardia and other filamentous microorganisms and restores floc forming microbes to the system.
  • Detoxifies cyanide and a number of other toxins in system.
  • Selected strains naturally form efficient-settling flocs.
  • Digests filamentous-source Trehalose, Glucose, Fructose, Glycine, Rhamnose & Ornithine based biosurfactants
  • Metabolizes chemical-based surfactants, including nonylphenols, sulfonates, etc.
  • 5 strains selected for ability to digest FOG, a favorite food-source of filamentous species that cause plant disruption
  • Deodorizes & digests acetic, butyric, hexanoic, isobutyric, isovaleric, lactic, oleic, palmitic, propionic, stearic and valeric fatty acids,
  • Effective over a wide temperature range (39 deg. F to 100 deg.F).
  • Effective over a wide pH range (5.9 to 9.0).
  • Non-toxic, non-corrosive, safe to handle and store.

APPLICATION DIRECTIONS:

See Industrial/municipal dosage charts for general application rates. Your Alken-Murray service representative will prescribe both the initial application and the maintenance doses taking into consideration such factors as the total daily influent and effluent, BOD/COD loadings, suspended solids and levels of pesticides or other contaminants.

Although product may be applied dry as a loose powder, for optimum bacterial performance, we recommend that you hydrate ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 7015 before application. Thoroughly mix each pound of dry product with two gallons of warm (approx.70 F) chlorine-free water. Allow the mixture to hydrate for two hours, stirring vigorously every half hour. Continuous stirring during hydration is also acceptable, if available. After final settling, carefully pour off the top liquid layer for use, squeeze all liquid from the bran that has settled into the liquid and either dispose of the remaining bran, or toss into the system. Avoid use of algaecides, herbicides, and antibiotics when using ALKEN CLEAR-FLO®.

To gain the fastest control of foam, directly spray foam with Alken Nu-Bind 1 while applying CF 7015 at the front of the plant.

PACKAGING and HANDLING:

ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 7015 is packaged in 25- and 50-pound containers. Store in a cool dry place. Avoid inhalation of dust as well as contact with eyes, skin and open wounds. Wash hands with warm, soapy water after handling.
