DESCRIPTION: ALKEN® BIO-NUTRIENT 3 is a rapidly absorbed nutrient supplement designed to enhance bacterial metabolism of toxic chemicals in industrial waste by the Alken Clear-Flo® 4003, 4003, 4004, 4006, 4007, 7000 series and Alken Enz-Odor® 6, 8 & 14. This formula is required for degrading in industrial wastewater, known to contain high levels of organic carbon along with insufficient levels of soluble nitrogen and phosphorus. ALKEN® BIO-NUTRIENT 3 contains a blend of ammonium chloride and diammonium phosphate, providing an ideal ratio of nitrogen to phosphorous of 5 to 1. While the waste-water is being analyzed for basic nutrients (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, phosphate, TOC, COD, BOD, dissolved oxygen, etc.), additional tests should be performed for pH, alkalinity, unusual suspected pollutants, micro-nutrients and minerals. ALKEN® BIO-NUTRIENT 8 or ALKEN® 896 BioStimulant can be used to supplement micro-nutrient deficiencies, while triggering enhanced germination rates and overall improved performance of Alken-Murray microbial cultures, even if no deficiency exists. A pH controller can be set up to attach two Tygon tubes from reservoirs to a two-reservoir metering pump. With this setup, one reservoir delivers acid and the other one delivers base. Eliminating wildly fluctuating pH reduces stress on the bacteria so that they more rapidly deliver desired results. |

Mix prescribed dose with target wastewater, in a proportion of 1 gallon of wastewater to 1 lb. of nutrients and allow to stand for 15 to 30 minutes before application to system. Alken ® Bio-Nutrient 3 (Dry) - use where five times as much nitrogen is needed as phosphorus If wastestream is extremely unbalanced and retention time is very short, you may wish to grow the bacteria for 24 hours, to increase the count by one log of growth, by combining wastewater, nutrients and bacterial inoculation in a temperature controlled (approx.70 F or 21 deg. C) tank or drum. A pH adjuster may be added to the waste stream, if necessary, to obtain the preferred pH range of 6.8 to 7.4. |
ALKEN BIO-NUTRIENT 3 is packaged in 25 lb. plastic pails and 50 pound fiber drums. Store in a cool dry place. Avoid inhalation of dust and wash hands with warm soapy water after handling. Update: 05-17-2006 |
