Emergency Overview: Organisms used are non-pathogenic, but can cause infection when in contact with open wounds. These organisms are susceptible to many commonly used antibiotics.

Potential Health Effects:

  • Signs and Symptoms of Acute Overexposure: Eye, skin irritation
  • Signs and Symptoms of Chronic overexposure: Dermatitis and skin sensitization
  • Medical Conditions Generally Aggravated by Exposure: Allergies, dermatitis.
  • Ingestion: No effect if ingested in small amounts. Relative to other materials, a single dose of this product is rarely toxic by ingestion. Irritation of the mouth, pharynx, esophagus and stomach can develop following ingestion. DSP ingestion may result in abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, shock, hypertension, slow pulse, cyanosis, coma and convulsions. MSP is used as a food additive with no adverse effects.

4. First Aid Measures

  • Inhalation: Remove victim to fresh air
  • Ingestion: Give victim water or milk to drink to dilute the product. Get medical advice..
  • Skin Contact: Remove contaminated clothing and footwear. Wash skin with soap and water. Wash clothing before reuse.
  • Eye Contact: Immediately flush eyes with water for 15 minutes. Get medical attention.
  • Note to Physician: If patient's immune system is compromised, request antibiotic sensitivity chart from Alken-Murray Corporation by e-mail: clearflo@shentel.net
