Bacterial Formula Indexes Finally Posted

In response to repeated requests from distributors and clients, we have posted indexes of microbial products http://www.alken-murray.com/Bugdindex.htm(dry) and http://www.alken-murray.com/Buglindex.htm (liquid). We did not post these before for two reasons:

1. to prevent competitors from copying them and
2. because your website editor preferred to focus on solutions instead of products. We are STILL focused on finding innovative solutions and new products will be created as the need for them arises. We buried these indexes two layers into the site, so its not easy for a browsing competitor to find them, at least we hope it isn't.

Formula Concentration Improvements

The following dry formulas now offer a count of 5 billion CFU/gram: Supplement C, 1001, 4003, 4004, 7001, 7002, 7004, 7005, 7006, 7008, 7015, 7018, 7020, 7026 and 7030. The following liquid formulas now offer a count of 100 million CFU/ml: 4103, 4104, 7101, 7104, 7105, 7108, and 7118. This represents a large increase from 15 million CFU/ml. We have also added two new gram-negative strains of grease degrading bacteria to Clear-Flo® 4003 & 4004.

Enz-Odor® 2 and Clear-Flo® 1200 Will Keep Their Already High Count

Clear-Flo® 1200 will maintain a count of 500 million CFU/ml and Enz-Odor® 2 will maintain a count of 200 million CFU/ml, continuing their status as two of the most concentrated liquid formulas on the market.

60% Discount Still Available for Single Pails of Older Formula

Since we changed the formula of CF 7002 and CF 7004, we are offering a single 25 lb pail of each product, using the old blend, at a 60% discount! There is still over one year left on the shelf-life and the products are good, just not quite as good as our new formulas.

EPA warns against relying solely on MSDS sheets in emergencies

U.S. EPA issued an alert cautioning local emergency responders not to rely solely on material safety data sheets (MSDSs) provided or maintained at facilities during a chemical accident. According to the alert, although emergency responders typically depend primarily on MSDSs maintained at the facility where a chemical emergency occurs, these documents alone often fail to provide sufficient information on which to base a safe, effective response. The alert identifies additional information sources and emphasizes that local response personnel should work with local facilities that use or store hazardous materials to plan appropriate responses before emergencies occur. Copies of the alert may be obtained by calling EPA's Emergency Response and Community Right-to-know Hotline at 1-800-424-9346 or 1-703-412-9810.

North Carolina Agency Posts Environmental Violations, Fines on the Web

The North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) announced it has begun posting information on the World Wide Web regarding specific fines and penalties it levies for violations of state environmental regulations. DENR said the listings will be updated monthly for civil penalties issued by its Land Resources, Water Quality, Air Quality, Environmental Health, Waste Management and Coastal Management divisions. "Citizens have a right to know about environmental violations in their communities, and providing easier access to fines and other environmental information raises public awareness and helps foster a stronger stewardship ethic," said Bill Holman, assistant secretary for environmental protection. "Posting the fines on the Web also provides an additional enforcement tool for encouraging the regulated community to comply with environmental laws." The fines will be listed by division on the DENR Web site at http://www.enr.state.nc.us/novs 

PETRO-AID Fuel Treatments from Denmark and England

Petro-Aid "F" is used for furnaces. Compare with Alken Even-Flo® 905, 910 and 910E below:

As you can see from the table, all three Alken Even-Flo® formulas are less dangerous to transport, are more than twice as free-flowing at normal temperatures and will still pour below freezing temperatures. The dosage prescribed for Petro-Aid "F" is more than 2.5 times the highest dose of Alken Even-Flo® 905, and 3 times the dose of Alken Even-Flo® 910 & 910E. If the prices were equal, Alken Even-Flo® would win on economy per application, but Petro-Aid "F" is more than twice the cost on a per-gallon basis, therefore the total cost to apply Petro-Aid "F" ranges from 5 to 10 times more expensive than Alken Even-Flo®. Flammable, expensive to buy, transport and store, and harder to pour, particularly at low temperatures. This doesn't sound like a product that I would want.
