LIQUID CARPET & UPHOLSTERY
CLEANING COMPOUND

DESCRIPTION:

ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 5202-5XFF is an extraordinarily concentrated, broad-spectrum bacterial formula, featuring a new blend of surfactants and an oxygenating catalyst that removes organic stains and odors from a broad assortment of materials (upholstery, carpet, car seats, draperies, etc.), in a single cleaning, which leaves NO RESIDUE to attract resoiling in high traffic areas. ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 5202- 5XFF contains twelve specially-selected strains of Bacillus. ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 5202- 5x includes an exceptional trio of Bacillus that work synergistically to target and eliminate a broad spectrum of fatty acids, left behind by other bacteria, which produce lipase and esterase to separate delicious glycerol from the unappealing, stinky, sticky fatty acids that this trio prefers. For more information on the exact breakdown of food Fats, Oils and Grease (commonly referred to as FOG), read the Drains, Lift Stations and Grease Trap Section of the Alken-Murray website. ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 5202 prepared product will rapidly restore a light, unobtrusive fragrance to the room as it quickly cleans and digests vomit, urine and feces accidents (human or animal) along with spilled milk, wine, Kool-Aid®, soda drinks, chocolate, coffee, tea, juices, pentosan gum and a wide variety of foods. When moistened, the microbes activate appropriate enzymes to help them clean and deodorize milk and food spills, vomit, urine and feces from pet or human accidents. As long as the fabric is moist, the microbes will continue to effectively degrade dirt in the carpet. ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 5202-5x is a fully formulated manufacturing concentrate. Just add unchlorinated water. Improved November 2006

  • Instantly controls odor without using an overpowering masking scent or chemicals that damage mammalian sense of smell, so important in the enjoyment of food.
  • Microbes digest trapped residual organics in carpet, underpad and even wood or concrete flooring, under the carpet.
  • Synergistic bacteria produce the following enzymes, as needed: protease (both casease & gelatinase), esterase, lipase, amylase, cellulase, lignosulfonase, pentosanase and xylanase, assuring that most sources of soil and odor found in restaurants and homes will be easily digested.
  • Improved degradation and deodorization of acetic, butyric, isobutyric, isovaleric, lactic, palmitic, propionic, stearic and valeric organic and fatty acids, source of odors from breakdown of fats, oils and grease from fatty foods.

FORMULATION DIRECTIONS:

Use contents of 5 gallon pail or 55 gallon-drum of concentrate when blending to produce single batch. Stir pail thoroughly (paint stirring drill attachment works well for this application if manufacturing area lacks overhead stirrers).. Dilute 1 part concentrate with four to nine parts of water to make finished product. Blend slowly for 15 to 30 minutes to assure proper spore dispersion in solution. If the product is to be sold bearing the Alken-Murray label, it should be diluted 1 part concentrate plus four parts of water.. Dilutions greater than 1 + 9 may decrease shelf-life.

Do not allow concentrate or blended formula to stand without agitation during repackaging or the amount of bacteria in each package may vary outside of specifications.

APPLICATIONS DIRECTIONS FOR FINISHED FORMULA:

For use in a sprayer as a spot cleaner for upholstery, carpets or clothing:

  1. Test fabric for colorfastness, using a section which does not show
  2. Remove excess solids or liquids.
  3. Dilute ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 5202 1 + 4 parts water in sprayer or plant mister to make ready-to-use spot-cleaner product. A weaker 1 + 9 parts water may be used, instead, for less serious stain removal and higher economy for large applications. Fully diluted product will awaken quickly when presented with food, but will begin to die of starvation after 1 week in ready-to-use dilution.
  4. Spray diluted product onto deeply soiled areas as a "pretreatment", especially for greasy stains and pet accidents.
  5. You may pretreat clothing which has been soiled with food, urine, vomit, feces or greasy food stains prior to washing with your preferred detergent. Allow to soak wet for at least 15 minutes prior to laundering.
  6. Place a clean, wet white towel over the seriously stained area for 24 hours prior to shampooing the entire carpet with ½ x or 1x ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 5202 . In lower traffic areas with severe soiling, saran wrap can be used to slow evaporation, instead, if desired.
  7. Since ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 5202 leaves no residue, rinsing with clean, warm water, utilizing a sponge or soft towel, to pick up residues from the surface is optional. The bacterial enzymes will eventually digest the biodegradable surfactants in this product. The carpet will feel like new with no stiffness or stickiness.

For use in carpet cleaning extraction cleaning machines:

  1. Test fabric for colorfastness, using a section which does not show.
  2. Small home shampoo machines, such as Oreck and Regina use a specialized bottle to dispense pre-diluted product, so mix 3 oz. of ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 5202 with 15 oz. of water, which will fill the typical bottle that fits these units. If 1/2X strength is used, the ratio changes to 6 oz. product with 7.5 oz. water.
  3. For machines that add fresh water to the product added to a reservoir, add the product at standard (1x) strength, so that the machine will create the expected level of dilution designed to work with that unit. Be sure to follow the machine's dosage instructions.
  4. ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 5202 contains antifoam, but if this amount is insufficient for the particular shampoo extraction machine model, you may add 2 drops of ALKEN ANTIFOAM 880 or any other silicone antifoam, which will not impede bacterial performance.
  5. Most shampoo extraction cleaning machines are designed with a rinse cycle, but this is optional, since ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 5202 does not leave a residue, but rinsing gives one more opportunity to vacuum up all the indigestible, inorganic dirt that has been dissolved by ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 5202 during the actual shampoo cycle.

Avoid using Lysol®, Chlorox® or other disinfectants for at least 1 hour after using this product.
