MANUFACTURING STRENGTH AMMONIA NITRIFIERS

DESCRIPTION:

ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 7110 (50x) is a liquid bacterial formulation comprising strains of bacteria capable of nitrifying ammonia nitrogen. Typically, injecting an inoculum of concentrated ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 7110 (50x) brings a system deficient in nitrifying bacteria up to required levels within 3-10 days with a concomitant reduction in total ammonia of 70-90%. This formula also has strong talents for oxidizing dimethyl ether and methyl fluoride. ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 7110 (50x) finds application in industrial treatment facilities associated with petroleum refineries, steel and coking works, meat processors and chemical manufacturers, all of which tend to generate high concentrations of ammonia in their wastewater. Domestic sewage treatment plants lacking a well established microbial population at start-up or plants which are overwhelmed by a system upset, brought about by illegal dumping into sewage lines or by other causes, can also benefit from the use of ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 7110 (50x).

CHARACTERISTICS:

 Appearance  Turbid tan liquid
 Odor  Slight
 pH  7.5
Ammonia Oxidation Rate:  500 mg NH3/liter/hour*
 Ammonia Nitrogen  <50 ppm
 Nitrite Nitrogen  <50 ppm
Shelf Life:  1 year, if kept refrigerated

FEATURES AND BENEFITS:

  • Works rapidly.
  • Effective even at relatively high BOD (200 mg/L).
  • Effective over a wide temperature range (49 to 110 degrees F).
  • Effective over a wide pH range (6.5 to 8.5).
  • Concentrate reduces shipping costs, storage and handling problems for large waste treatment plants.
  • Concentrate can be diluted 1 gal. product + 49 gal. water to make finished product for resale. If diluted product is to be stored at room temperature in bottles or pails, be sure to use a vented cap and leave an air space from 10 to 15% of total volume of pail or bottle. If refrigerated storing is used for diluted product, you will not need a vented cap
  • Non-toxic, non-corrosive, safe to handle and store.

DOSAGES:

See Industrial/Municipal Dosage Chart for CF 7110 (50x strength,) both in US and metric doses.

BOD must be 200 ppm or below for nitrifiers to perform with maximum efficiency and oxygen levels must be above 2 ppm. If BOD/COD is above 200 ppm, a waste degrading product from the ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 7000 series should be used to reduce nutrient loadings BEFORE nitrifiers are added. Ask Alken-Murray Corporation for advice on which product will be most suitable for your plant. Also maintain at least 7.2 ppm of alkalinity for each ppm of ammonia nitrified, to keep the pH from dropping below 7.0.

FEEDING:

ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 7110 (50x) should be applied daily, either manually or by means of a chemical metering pump, until the ammonia problem is brought under control. For lakes or ponds, weekly application should be sufficient.

PACKAGING and HANDLING:

ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 7110 (50x) is packaged in 1 pint and 1.2 gallon jug inside a cooler with refreezer ice brix and STP media vial to verify survival of product. The 1.25 gallon jug is 12 inches tall, 7 inches wide and 4 inches deep. (5 to 7 jugs can be stored on their sides next to each other on the standard refrigerator shelf) Must be stored in refrigerator to maintain 1 year shelf-life. Do not dilute concentrate more than 1 gallon concentrate plus 49 gallons of filtered water in a 55 gallon drum with a vented lid. Diluted product may be stored at room temperature for 6 months. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and open wounds. Wash hands with warm, soapy water after handling.
